A chilling burglary took place in Cheshire when former footballer Nicky Maynard and his wife Tara returned home after celebrating their son’s 12th birthday.
What was supposed to be a joyful evening quickly turned into a nightmare when they discovered that their home had been ransacked.
Tara, who shares her love for fashion with her 670,000 Instagram followers, tearfully revealed the traumatic discovery.
A Devastating Loss of Personal Items
The couple had taken their two sons, Camden and Trey, out to an Italian restaurant in Nantwich, Cheshire, to celebrate Trey’s birthday.
But when they returned, they found their home in complete disarray.
Tara shared her heartbreak in an emotional video, showing the destruction in her dressing room.
“We’ve been out for an hour, and they’ve literally ransacked the whole place,” she said, describing how everything had been taken, including her designer handbags, Cartier and Rolex watches, and three Van Cleef bracelets.
The Horrifying Realization of What Was Stolen
Tara’s online presence often features her collection of luxury clothing and accessories, and it didn’t take long for her to realize that the burglars had been targeting these items.
She was devastated to find that not only had the criminals taken her valuables, but they had also stolen the money her children had been saving for Christmas and birthdays.
“They’ve even taken the little kids’ safes with the cash in them,” she added, visibly shaken.
Suspicion of a Targeted Break-In
At first, Tara suspected that a post she made about their son’s birthday might have alerted the burglars.
However, further investigation revealed a camera taped to a bush outside their home, suggesting the burglars had been spying on the house.
The couple believes that the criminals might have been inside the house when they returned, as they heard noises outside and later found discarded shoes and bags near the property.
The Emotional Impact on the Family
The break-in has left the Maynards deeply shaken, especially their two young sons, who are now afraid to be alone.
Tara spoke about the emotional toll, saying, “Home should be your safe place, but it doesn’t feel that way anymore.”
Both parents expressed how the incident has completely altered their sense of security.
Recent Burglary Spree in Upmarket Cheshire
This burglary follows a similar trend in affluent areas of Cheshire, where high-end properties have been targeted by sophisticated criminal gangs.
Just days earlier, over 100 designer handbags, worth over £1 million, were stolen from a luxury home in Alderley Edge.
Tara and Nicky’s home, like others in the area, represented a prime target for such crimes.
Tara defended her social media posts showcasing her fashion, explaining that she worked hard for the luxury items they owned, and shouldn’t have to live in fear because of it.
Cheshire Police Investigating the Break-In
The Maynards immediately contacted the police, and investigations are underway to uncover the culprits behind the burglary.
Tara expressed her fears that the burglars had been professionals who knew exactly what they were doing.
Despite the trauma, the family remains hopeful that the police will track down the criminals who violated their home.
This break-in serves as another grim reminder of the increasing trend of luxury homes in affluent areas being targeted by highly organized criminal gangs, and the lasting emotional toll these crimes have on victims.
