Following his affair, Shakira and Gerad Pique split up.

Following infidelity allegations, Colombian singer Shakira and Spanish player Gerard Pique are said to have split up.

The Barcelona centre-back was kicked out of their family home after allegedly being unfaithful to the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer.

In 2010, Shakira and Gerard Pique met in South Africa for the FIFA World Cup. Milan and Sasha are their two boys, but they never married.

Pique explained why he didn’t ask Shakira to marry him on more than one occasion. The most significant interview was with Gary Neville, a former Manchester United teammate and footballer.

In the interview, Pique said, “I like how we are, we function as a couple, there’s no need to get married.”

Shakira relocated to Barcelona almost quickly after the World Cup to start a family with the La Liga player.

According to rumours, Shakira has requested a divorce, with Pique relocating to a bachelor apartment.

The pair is expected to issue a statement soon, according to a source in Spanish media. It’s unclear whether the message will dispute the cheating charges or announce their breakup.

Shakira is claimed to be crushed by the betrayal, according to the source, and has communicated this in her latest song, Te Felicito, which was published in April.

“”To complete you, I broke into pieces; I was warned, but I didn’t listen; I realised that yours is fake; it was the drop that overflowed the glass,” she sings alongside Rauw Alejandro in the single. Don’t say you’re sorry; it seems sincere, but I know you’re not telling the truth.”

Pique is ten years Shakira’s senior, and the two have always been supportive of each other’s equally demanding jobs.

Shak and Pique have both posted messages of support to each other on social media over the years.
