A shocking incident unfolded in one of Dubai’s luxury hotels this week when a young flight attendant was found brutally murdered in her room.
The 25-year-old woman had suffered at least 15 stab wounds, leaving authorities horrified.
Police quickly traced the crime back to her ex-husband, who has now been arrested in Russia.
Ex-Husband Arrested in St. Petersburg
Albert Morgan, a 41-year-old legal consultant from Russia, was taken into custody in St. Petersburg after arriving back in his home city.
Investigators allege that Morgan had been consumed by jealousy, following his former partner all the way to the UAE to confront her.
Reports suggest he was driven by unfounded suspicions that she was working as an escort for VIP passengers during their past relationship.
The Deadly Confrontation
Authorities believe Morgan gained access to the Voco Bonnington Hotel room by posing as a guest.
Initially, he had planned a less violent form of revenge—smearing green paint and cutting her hair—but the encounter quickly escalated.
A confrontation broke out, reportedly ending with Morgan launching a frenzied attack with scissors.
The victim was found with stab wounds to her neck, torso, and limbs.
A History of Conflict
Morgan and his ex-wife had lived together in St. Petersburg for two years before their breakup.
Afterward, he allegedly monitored her private messages, fueling his jealousy and ultimately prompting the 2,700-mile flight to Dubai.
He reportedly traveled with an accomplice, a bailiff from St. Petersburg, who helped him track the victim to her hotel room.
How He Entered the Hotel
The investigation revealed that Morgan disguised himself in a hotel robe and tricked a maid into letting him into the room, claiming he had forgotten his key.
Dubai police later identified him through hotel CCTV footage and immediately informed Russian authorities, leading to his arrest.
Attempt to Evade Justice
Before being detained, Morgan reportedly tried to sign up to fight in Russia’s war against Ukraine—a loophole sometimes exploited by alleged criminals in Russia to avoid prosecution.
Despite this, he was placed in custody and will remain under detention for at least two months while further investigations continue.
Past Domestic Issues
Reports from law enforcement sources indicate that during their marriage, the victim had previously called police multiple times due to conflicts with Morgan but later withdrew her complaints.
Court footage shows Morgan appearing before a Russian judge wearing a hat and mask.
Court Orders Custody
The Oktyabrsky District Court of St.
Petersburg has ordered that Morgan remain in custody as a preventive measure.
Court documents confirm that he is accused under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code, which pertains to murder.
Investigators in St. Petersburg stated:
“Between December 17 and 18 of this year, the suspect, while stalking the victim with whom he had a prior relationship, stabbed her at least 15 times in vital areas, causing her death.
After committing the crime, he fled the country and was arrested upon returning to St. Petersburg.”
