Fire outbreak on Hamilton Island, Queensland

Huge black smoke plumes have been seen rising into the sky as a luxury superyacht erupted in a ball of flames.

The opulent vessel was docked in a port on Hamilton Island, off the coast of northeast Queensland, when a fire broke out inside at about 1 o’clock on Monday.

Video captures heavy, black smoke billowing into the air and enveloping adjacent boats as firefighters struggle hard to douse the fires.

It is believed that nobody was aboard the luxurious yacht when the fire started.

The fire’s origin is still a mystery.
