A residential block near Grenfell Tower on 12th floor gushes fire

This morning, some 60 firefighters are battling a wildfire in a high-rise structure near Grenfell Tower in West London.

Eight fire engines were dispatched to the location, where they discovered half of a flat on the 12th storey of a building in Shepherds Bush, London, had caught fire.

‘Eight fire engines and roughly 60 firemen are dealing with a fire in a high rise complex on Queensdale Crescent in Shepherds Bush,’ said a London Fire Brigade spokeswoman.

‘On the 12th floor, half of the flat is on fire. We deployed cutting-edge technology to allow callers to upload live stream videos of the incident directly to the Brigade’s 999 contact center.

‘At 0923, the Brigade was summoned. At this time, the source of the fire is unknown.’
Over thirty 999 calls to the fire in W11 were received, according to the London Fire Brigade.

There have been no reports of anyone being hurt as a result of the high-rise fire.

Less than a mile away from Grenfell Tower, which caught fire in June 2017, black smoke can be seen billowing in the sky.

The fire claimed the lives of 72 people and injured 74 more, and it took more than 250 firefighters and 70 fire engines to put it out.

Witness ‘In West London and saw this and heard sirens moving closer,’ Joanna Foster remarked on Twitter.

‘It appears that a building other than the tower is on fire.

‘It’s no less horrible for people who have been affected, and it’s made me physically nauseous.’

‘What must it be like for all those who have been affected by Grenfell and have to deal with such anguish on a daily basis?’
