‘Fingers are pointing at Longwe’: Tweeps weigh in on Senzo Meyiwa trial

AfriForum’s legal head, Advocate Gerrie Nel says the “mastermind” behind the murder of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa is now “known to police” at the Pretoria High Court today (11 April) but Tweeps think fingers are pointing in the direction of Longwe Twala.

SENZO MEYIWA: MURDER TRIAL

Former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa was said to have been killed in an armed robbery. The alleged armed robbery took place at the house of Senzo’s then-girlfriend singer Kelly Khumalo on 26 October 2014.

The former Bafana Bafana’s captain’s murder was investigated in a Netflix documentary. The documentary pointed out many loopholes in the story of those who were inside the house at the time. So, who was in the house?

  • Kelly
  • Her sister Zandie,
  • Their mother Ntombi
  • Zandi’s boyfriend Longwe Twala
  • Meyiwa’s friends Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala

NETFLIX DOCCIE EXPLORES THEORY OF LONGWE KILLING SENZO

The theory of Longwe Twala being accused of killing Senzo was explored in the documentary. Longwe, the son of South African musician Chicco Twala, was dating Kelly’s sister Zandie at the time. He allegedly suspected that she was cheating.

The latest on the case is that the Nel says police know who the “mastermind” behind the murder is. The case has also been delayed for 24 hours. So, social media users took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

TWEEPS: ‘FINGERS ARE POINTING AT LONGWE’

Twitter users seem to believe Longwe is guilty and Nel is “being bought”. Tweeps also think the stories from interviews contradict each other.
