Fake heiress Anna Delvey shocks fashion world as she struts down the runway at New York Fashion Week with ankle monitor on full display

Some people make headlines for their talent, while others stay in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Anna Delvey, the infamous fake heiress, seems to fall into the latter category.

This time, however, she wasn’t making waves for her past scams—she was strutting down the runway at New York Fashion Week.

A Bold Appearance at Elena Velez’s Show

On Sunday, February 9, designer Elena Velez showcased her Fall 2025 collection at ARTECHOUSE in Manhattan, presenting a striking array of dark, gothic-inspired pieces.

The models embodied the eerie aesthetic, some with wet, slicked-back hair, others barefoot, and many in shredded, deconstructed garments.

One model in particular stood out—not just for her outfit but for her unmistakable ankle monitor.

She opened the show in a dark green leather pencil skirt with a matching long-sleeved top, complete with fur cuffs and a draped stole over her shoulder.

Her makeup transformed her appearance, making her nearly unrecognizable at first glance.

But the electronic tag on her ankle gave it away: this was none other than Anna Delvey, real name Anna Sorokin.

From Fake Heiress to Fashion Model

Anna Delvey became a household name after posing as a wealthy German heiress to infiltrate New York’s elite social circles.

Her elaborate scheme defrauded banks, hotels, and individuals of an estimated $275,000.

Arrested in 2017, she was convicted of multiple charges, including grand larceny and theft of services, and sentenced to four to twelve years in prison.

She was released in 2022 under house arrest and barred from social media.

No More House Arrest, More Public Appearances

In September 2024, her lawyer, John Sandweg, confirmed that her house arrest had been lifted, clearing the way for Anna to return to public life.

She wasted no time stepping back into the limelight, making an appearance at another New York Fashion Week show, this time flaunting a bejeweled version of her ankle monitor.

That same month, she joined the cast of Dancing With The Stars.

While her participation sparked curiosity, her journey on the show was short-lived.

A Short Stint on Dancing With The Stars

Anna and her dance partner, Ezra Sosa, were the first couple eliminated from the show’s 33rd season.

But it wasn’t just her early exit that had people talking—it was her reaction.

When co-host Julianne Hough asked what she would “take away” from the experience, Anna’s deadpan response was simply: “Nothing.”

The audience was visibly stunned, and social media exploded with reactions.

Viewers on X (formerly Twitter) called out her attitude, with some saying they “audibly gasped” at her blunt response.

Others criticized her lack of effort in trying to rehabilitate her image, with one user writing, “Girl, don’t talk about redemption when you… don’t… even try.”

What’s Next for Anna Delvey?

Despite the backlash, Anna seems to have no plans of fading into obscurity.

Whether it’s through fashion, television, or yet another unpredictable move, she continues to find ways to stay in the public eye.

Only time will tell what her next headline-grabbing stunt will be.
