Strategic Political Move: Audu Mahmood’s Shift from PDP to APC
In a significant political development, Audu Mahmood, the pioneer and former director-general of PDP New Generation, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Alongside him, thousands of his followers from Garun Gabas Ward and across Mallam-Madori local government area in Jigawa State have also made the transition.
Influential Role in 2023 Elections: Mahmood’s Impact on PDP’s Mobilization
Known as the former PDP Youth Leader and a key player in the last 2023 elections, Mahmood played a vital role in mobilizing thousands of youths across the country for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the PDP at large.
He was credited as the mastermind behind the PDP’s victory in Garun Gabas Ward during the 2023 presidential, senatorial, and house of representatives elections in Mallam-Madori LGA of Jigawa State.
Official Transition to APC: Thousands Follow Mahmood’s Lead
On Sunday, February 4, 2024, Audu Mahmood officially joined the APC, bringing with him thousands of followers, including former PDP Executives and leaders from various wards.
Notable personalities from the Mallam-Madori LGA, such as Alh Ya’u Abdullahi, Yakubu Mohammed, Abubarkar Muhammed Wakil, Mallam Isyaku, Adamu Abdullahi, Aminu Ibrahim, and others, joined the mass defection.
Inspired by Governor’s Achievements: Mahmood Cites Umar Namadi’s Impact
In a statement, Mahmood explained that the decision to lead PDP members to the APC was in response to popular demand and inspired by the achievements of Jigawa State governor, Mallam Umar Namadi.
He praised the governor’s rapid success in impacting lives through empowerment and developmental programs in areas such as education, health, sports, and more.
Support for APC’s Developmental Agenda: Mahmood’s Pledge and Grand Reception
Mahmood expressed his commitment to supporting and contributing to the development and progress of Garun Gabas Ward, Mallam-Madori Local Government, and Jigawa State as a whole.
He pledged to abide by all the rules and regulations of the APC, vowing to add more value to the party’s current status in their ward, local government, state, and the country at large.
The grand reception held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, witnessed the presence of Jigawa State Governor’s representative, APC state chairman, and other political dignitaries, marking a notable moment in the political landscape of the region.
