Estimate shows Mega Millions jackpot to reach $1.28 billion.

By Friday night’s drawing, the Mega Millions jackpot is anticipated to reach a maximum value of $1.28 billion.

According to Mega Millions, the second-largest prize ever awarded in the history of the game would be the $747.2 million cash value (before taxes).

The winning ticket was purchased in South Carolina, and the game’s record-breaking prize of $1.537 billion was won that year.

One winning ticket was purchased in Michigan in 2021, which resulted in the next-largest Mega Millions payout of $1.05 billion.

The current jackpot is also the third-largest prize in American lottery history, trailing only a $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot that was awarded to winners in California, Florida, and Tennessee in 2016.

The winning numbers in the most recent Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday were 7-29-60-63-66 with a Mega Ball of 15.

Despite no one taking home the top prize, Mega Millions said that nine tickets each won at least $1 million.

On April 15, 2017, someone last claimed the Mega Millions prize.

People from all across the United States have flocked to buy tickets in an effort to win the reward over the previous few weeks as the award became larger and larger.
