Errol Musk accuses Elon Musk of neglecting his first son Nevada and blames excessive reliance on nannies for the tragic death in Los Angeles

Family drama isn’t new to the Musk household, but Errol Musk’s latest comments about his billionaire son, Elon, have sparked outrage.

In a recent interview on the South African podcast Wide Awake, the elder Musk made some unsettling remarks about Elon’s parenting and the tragic loss of his firstborn son, Nevada.

Errol’s Controversial Take on Nevada’s Death

Errol Musk didn’t hold back when discussing the 2002 death of Elon’s first child, Nevada Alexander.

According to him, Elon and his then-wife, Justine, relied too much on nannies, a decision he believes contributed to Nevada’s passing from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

“The first child was too much with nannies and died in the care of a nanny,” Errol stated, adding that Elon “hasn’t been a good dad.”

He suggested that wealth played a role in how the children were raised, saying, “They were too rich, [had] too many nannies…

When they got divorced, the nannies were six on this side and six on that side. So it was a really weird situation.”

A Father-Son Feud That Runs Deep

Errol and Elon Musk’s relationship has been strained for years.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has been open about his complicated feelings toward his father, once calling him a “terrible human being” in a 2017 interview.

“He will have a carefully thought-out plan of evil. He will plan evil,” Elon stated at the time.

Errol, who infamously married and had children with his own stepdaughter, has been a polarizing figure in the Musk family.

His recent comments add yet another layer to their long-standing rift.

The Painful Loss of Nevada Musk

Elon and Justine Musk’s first child, Nevada, was just 10 weeks old when he died.

Justine has previously shared the heartbreaking details of that tragic moment.

In an essay for Marie Claire, she wrote about how Nevada stopped breathing while napping, and despite efforts to resuscitate him, he suffered severe brain damage from lack of oxygen.

After three days on life support, the couple made the painful decision to let him go.

“My firstborn child died in my arms. I felt his last heartbeat,” Elon once tweeted, condemning those who use child deaths for political or personal gain.

Musk’s Expanding Family and His Unconventional Views on Parenthood

Despite the grief of losing Nevada, Elon Musk went on to have a large family.

He and Justine welcomed twins Xavier (now Vivian) and Griffin, followed by triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian.

In more recent years, he has had three children with singer Grimes—X Æ A-12, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus—and three more with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis—Strider, Azure, and an unnamed third child.

Elon has spoken openly about his belief in the importance of having many children, even joking about repopulating the world.

Some of his kids have recently made public appearances, including Strider and Azure, who joined their father in a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, Grimes has expressed frustration about their son X being thrust into the media spotlight.

What’s Next for the Musk Family Saga?

With Errol Musk continuing to air family matters in public and Elon remaining one of the most influential figures in tech, it’s unlikely this feud will settle anytime soon.

Whether Elon will respond directly to his father’s remarks remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—this family’s story is far from over.
