Rashford’s Apology for Birthday Bash After Derby Defeat
Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has emphasized that Marcus Rashford has issued an apology for celebrating his 26th birthday with a party following the club’s 3-0 Manchester derby loss to Manchester City on October 29.
The party sparked backlash after Rashford’s team suffered a defeat.

Marcus Rashford, who turned 26 on October 31, chose to celebrate his birthday at a luxurious club house despite Manchester United’s loss to City.
The decision to host a birthday bash after the significant defeat drew criticism and negative reactions.
Coach ten Hag’s Disapproval
As Manchester United prepared to face Fulham in a Premier League match on November 4, coach Erik ten Hag addressed the issue during a press conference.
He expressed his disapproval of Rashford’s decision to party after such a defeat, deeming it “unacceptable.”
The birthday celebration had been pre-planned and could not be canceled, even in the wake of the loss.
Rashford, however, attended training the day after the party with no reported issues.
Internal Matter and Apology
Although Ten Hag criticized Rashford’s actions, he did not disclose whether the forward would face any punishment, insisting that it was an internal matter.
He confirmed that he spoke with Rashford about the incident, stating, “It is unacceptable.
I told him.
He apologized and that is it.”
The coach acknowledged Rashford’s apology for his actions.
Continued Participation
Despite the controversy surrounding his birthday party, Marcus Rashford continued to play for Manchester United in the Carabao Cup round of 16 against Newcastle United on November 1.
He is expected to participate in the upcoming match against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
