England’s warmest summer ever

Preliminary data from a dataset that dates back to 1884, according to the Met Office’s national forecaster, indicates that this past summer in England was among the hottest on record for the nation.

The Met office said that “In England, the warm and dry weather have been especially outstanding,” and the nation’s mean temperature of 17.1 degrees Celsius is matched with that of July 2018 for the highest ever recorded.
