Emma Raducanu advanced to the third round of Wimbledon after a commanding straight-sets victory over Elise Mertens on Wednesday.
Raducanu, who entered the tournament with a wildcard, showcased her impressive form by defeating the Belgian star 6-1, 6-2.
The British tennis sensation had already made headlines by overcoming lucky loser Renata Zarazua in her first match on Monday.
Despite admitting that her initial performance was not her best, she came out strong against Mertens, breaking her opponent twice in the first set to take a 5-0 lead before closing it out at 6-1.
In the second set, Raducanu continued her dominance, breaking Mertens twice more to establish a 5-1 lead.
