The Scottish club confirmed that the two players had both undergone “successful surgeries”.

The South African pair were both injured in the Challenge Cup win against Pau at the DAM Health Stadium earlier this month.

Former Cheetahs loosehead Venter, who has scored six tries in 25 appearances for Edinburgh, suffered a knee injury.

Meanwhile, ex-Leicester and Cheetahs front-ranker De Bruin suffered a hamstring injury on what was his eighth appearance for Edinburgh.

Edinburgh confirmed the news on their social media pages on Monday.

Edinburgh are currently seventh in the United Rugby Championship (URC) standings and in with a definite chance of making the quarter-finals with just two matches remaining.

They will next be in action at home to Irish side Ulster on Saturday, 30 April at 20:35 (SA time).
