Easter Celebration: Anambra Assembly Speaker, Okafor Tells Nigerians To Promote National Interest

Despite religious and political divides, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, has urged Nigerians to prioritize the nation’s interests in all their endeavors.

Right Honourable Okafor said in his Easter address that Easter allows Nigerians to reflect on their life, and that because Jesus Christ defeated death, Christians and non-Christians alike are obliged to conquer corruption and other societal vices.

The Speaker urged political office holders to emulate Jesus Christ’s selflessness and sacrifice for mankind’s salvation by abstaining from all forms of political, social, and religious vices in the interest of the country’s peace and progress, even as he urged affluent citizens to donate a portion of their God-given wealth to positively impact the lives of the poor in their midst.

While wishing Ndi Anambra a happy Easter, Right Honourable Okafor urged them to use the occasion to exhibit more love to one another and rally support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s government.

The Speaker, who urged Ndi Anambra, particularly religious groups in the state, to continue to pray for the state’s peace and growth, prayed to God to give Governor Soludo the grace and ability to lead the state’s affairs honorably.
