In a recent development for South African football, the PSL has announced Betway as the new headline sponsor for the 2024/25 season.

Dr. Irvin Khoza, the chairman of the PSL, shared this exciting news during a press conference held at the PSL headquarters in Parktown on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

This change comes on the heels of DStv, the previous headline sponsor, pulling out due to financial challenges.

The partnership between the PSL and DStv, which began with a five-year contract signed in September 2020, was originally set to last until September 2025.

DStv’s exit marks the end of their tenure, which followed a long-standing relationship with ABSA Bank that lasted 13 years.

During DStv’s time as the headline sponsor, Mamelodi Sundowns emerged as the only team to claim the DStv Premiership title.
