Trump’s Surprise Visit to Las Vegas Casino
On Saturday, Donald Trump made a surprise appearance at the Circa Casino in Las Vegas, where he was greeted by enthusiastic crowds and chants of “USA!” The President was spotted casually walking through the casino with his security team, engaging with both patrons and staff along the way.
At one point, he approached a craps table, encouraging a player to “throw a dice,” even getting involved by blowing on the dice for good luck and playfully slapping one after a bad roll.
The atmosphere was lighthearted, but things got a bit tense when journalists attempted to ask Trump questions.
A craps player interrupted, scolding them with, “I’m rolling here!” Trump continued mingling, complimenting a gambler on their skills, thanking casino workers, and even signing a fan’s cap before making his exit.
Trump Talks Tax and Tipping Policies
Earlier in the day, before his surprise casino visit, Trump had addressed a large crowd of supporters.
He used the opportunity to promote his policy regarding tipping in the hospitality industry, pledging that workers who rely on tips as their income would keep 100% of their tips.
He emphasized the significance of this policy, especially in states like Nevada, where a large portion of restaurant workers’ income comes from tips. According to Trump, many of the more than four million workers who rely on tips nationwide, including hundreds of thousands of single mothers, would benefit greatly from this change.
Trump on Gaza and Foreign Policy
Later, Trump shared his thoughts on the ongoing situation in Gaza, where a fragile ceasefire was holding between Hamas and Israel.
In an interview with reporters aboard Air Force One, he revealed his plan to “clean out” Gaza, mentioning that neighboring Arab countries could potentially absorb more Palestinians. “I’d like Egypt to take people.
And I’d like Jordan to take people,” he said.
He also recounted a conversation with Jordan’s King Abdullah, discussing the devastating destruction in Gaza and the need for solutions that could help the region’s people live in peace.
Tensions with Colombia Over Deportations
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Trump during the weekend.
He took swift action after Colombia refused to accept two planeloads of deported US citizens, imposing a 25% tariff on Colombian imports and revoking visas for Colombian government officials.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro quickly backed down, even offering to help bring the deported individuals back to Colombia using his presidential plane.
However, tensions flared when Petro criticized Trump, calling him a “white slaveholder” and accusing him of trying to destroy humanity with his actions.
It was a heated exchange that highlighted the ongoing strains in US-Colombia relations.
