She tragically passed away at the age of 58 on April 15 after a tough fight against glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive brain cancer.

The heartbreaking news was shared by the family through a fan account called Sopranos Aficionado, which posted a heartfelt tribute.
“Sarah Francesca Chianese, daughter of Dominic Chianese, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15th,” the tribute read. “She battled glioblastoma and was only 58 years old.
Her father stayed by her side until the very end.”
Sarah’s sister, Rebecca, also shared touching words, describing her sibling as “a bright light in this world.”
She continued, “She wanted everyone to live their happiest life and smile when they think of her.”

Dominic Chianese, 94, is a beloved American actor, singer, and musician, most famous for his roles in The Sopranos, The Godfather Part II, and Boardwalk Empire.
The Sopranos, which aired from 1999 to 2007, remains one of the most influential crime dramas in television history.
Chianese’s portrayal of the complex Corrado Soprano earned him a place in the hearts of many fans.

“Sarah knew how to throw a party,” he shared, explaining that she had a successful catering business.
“She was dedicated to her craft, like a real artist when it came to that.”
Dominic Jr. also mentioned how his father, Dominic, supported Sarah during her final days, saying, “It was important to her and him both.”

Sarah’s son also took to social media to honor her, calling her “one of the most accomplished women I’ve ever known.”
He praised her for her many talents and achievements, from restoring old barns to working at a law firm in her twenties, and most recently, running a catering company in her fifties.
“She got the job done—always in record time, with unreal competence,” he wrote.

Dominic Chianese’s career spans decades, and he remains a respected figure in the entertainment industry.
Before The Sopranos, he starred in the Broadway production East Side/West Side, and his role as Johnny Ola in The Godfather Part II marked his Hollywood debut.
Chianese has continued to work on both film and television, including appearances in Dog Day Afternoon, …And Justice For All, and Looking for Richard.
He also had a notable guest role on Boardwalk Empire as Leander Whitlock.
Most recently, Dominic starred in the short film Breathe Truth (2024), a comedy that explores the experience of an elderly actor auditioning for the first time to play Shakespeare.
