Disturbing Video Shows Las Vegas Showgirl Maris Mareen DiGiovanni Being Stabbed to Death During Mass Rampage

In a shocking and disturbing incident, a horrific video has surfaced showing the tragic moment when Las Vegas showgirl Maris Mareen DiGiovanni was fatally stabbed on the street in October 2022.

DiGiovanni, 30, was one of the victims in a mass stabbing that also left 47-year-old Brent Hallett dead, and six others injured, many of them fellow showgirls.

The suspect, Yoni Barrios, 34, is facing multiple charges, including murder and terrorism, after the harrowing footage was shown to a grand jury.

Disturbing Video Shows Suspect’s Brutal Attack

The video, which has now gone viral, depicts Barrios running down the famous Las Vegas strip, holding a large kitchen knife.

As he approaches DiGiovanni, he attacks her with the weapon, sending her collapsing to the ground.

Without pausing, Barrios continues his rampage, stabbing another man in the back and injuring yet another individual.

A later video shows police tackling Barrios to the ground inside the Sands Expo, ending his reign of terror.

Attack Begins with a Request for a Photo

Police have pieced together the events that led to the violent spree.

Authorities say that Barrios initially approached a group of showgirls and asked to take a picture with them, claiming he was a chef.

However, when he felt they were mocking him for his clothes and appearance, he began “indiscriminately” stabbing, according to Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney, John Giordani.

DiGiovanni was part of the Best Showgirls in Vegas modeling and talent agency, and according to agency boss Cheryl Lowthorp, she was also a schoolteacher.

Lowthorp confirmed that two other agency members were among the injured, while a third managed to escape unharmed.

Barrios’ Past and Legal Issues

Before the deadly attack, Barrios had visited the Wynn casino, where he inquired about job opportunities, particularly in the kitchen.

He reportedly told a casino security guard that he was trying to sell the knives he had in his suitcase in hopes of raising enough money to return home.

His citizenship status remains unclear, but police revealed that he had a criminal history, including a 2019 domestic violence charge in Los Angeles.

The case, however, was dismissed after prosecutors failed to bring it to court within the required timeframe.

Barrios also had a previous conviction in 2016 for dangerous driving in Riverside, California.

Following his arrest in connection to the Vegas stabbings, Barrios reportedly told detectives that he was from Guatemala and expressed a desire for ICE to deport him.

Tragic Aftermath and Community Reactions

The devastating attack left the Las Vegas community shaken, and the video of the brutal incident has only amplified the horror of what occurred.

The images of DiGiovanni’s red feathered headdress lying on the bloodied ground serve as a haunting reminder of the violence.

As authorities continue to investigate the case, questions about Barrios’ motives and his past actions remain central to understanding the tragic events that unfolded on the Vegas strip that October day.
