Disregard politicians with questionable records – Group urges President Buhari

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has been urged not to entertain politicians with questionable records in the ruling Party.

The group called Southern Taraba Concerned Citizens made the call during a news briefing in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital.

The group also called on Nigeria’s Anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC and the National leadership of All Progressive Congress APC to disregard politicians with records of financial misappropriation.

According to the Coordinator of the group Mr Daniel Likam, “the decamping by some members of other opposition parties to the ruling party is a sign that they are looking for political favours.

Mr Likam stated that the decamping of former minority leader Senator Emmanuel Bwacha representing Taraba South in North-East Nigeria was a cover-up to financial misappropriation and misrepresentation.

“We want to put it on record that we have compiled a list of all zonal intervention projects and funds running into billions of naira which have disappeared without execution.

Likam noted the group has further approached EFCC with facts and figures for senator Bwacha to be investigated.

He commended the EFCC leadership under its Chairman Abdurasheed Bawa for their complaints investigated so far.

“We must commend the current leadership of EFCC under Abdurasheed Bawa, who has so far used his good office to send his operatives to our zone to see things for themselves and investigate properly.

The Southern Taraba Concerned group encouraged EFCC not to relent in the service to the nation.
