A terrifying incident unfolded at Toronto Pearson Airport on Monday when a Delta passenger plane, carrying 76 people, crashed during its landing.
The aircraft, a Bombardier CR900, had just flown in from Minneapolis before the disaster struck, causing it to flip over and land upside down shortly before 3pm.
Miraculous Survival Despite the Crash
The crash occurred while the plane was being operated by Endeavor Air, a regional airline partnered with Delta. Shockingly, all passengers onboard survived the crash.
Passengers were seen in videos climbing out of the wreckage and stepping onto the icy tarmac, with many visibly shaken by the traumatic experience.
Disturbing Footage from Inside the Plane
A survivor shared a chilling video of the aftermath, showing a woman hanging upside down from her seat as the plane had overturned.
In the video, she expressed her disbelief, stating, “My plane crashed, I’m upside down,” as she recorded the dramatic scene.
As the camera panned, we saw passengers stumbling out of the plane, some still in shock as they rushed to safety.
Injuries Reported Among Passengers
While it’s miraculous that everyone survived, three people—one child and two adults—have been reported to be in critical condition, according to CTV News.
Initial reports mentioned that a total of eight people were injured in the crash, though most injuries were classified as mild to moderate.
Delta and the Flight Attendants Association Respond
Delta Air Lines quickly acknowledged the reports of the crash, with a spokesperson confirming their awareness of Endeavor Flight 4819’s involvement in the incident.
They assured the public that further updates would be shared as soon as more information became available.
Similarly, the Association of Flight Attendants issued a statement, urging people not to speculate about the crash and confirming that no fatalities had occurred.
Flight Delays and Ground Stop at Toronto Airport
Following the crash, Toronto Pearson Airport experienced significant disruptions, with over 50 flights delayed.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that a ground stop had been implemented at the airport.
Emergency crews worked swiftly to secure the crash site, spraying foam on the aircraft to prevent any potential fire hazard.
Miraculous Escape but Urgent Investigations Underway
Despite the chaos and the overturned plane, quick action from both emergency services and the crew ensured that the situation didn’t escalate further.
While investigations continue into the cause of the crash, Toronto Pearson and the FAA are focused on finding answers as passengers and staff alike process the shocking events of the day.
