Eskom says the delay in units returning to service at Camden, Matla, Grootvlei and Tutuka power stations, has necessitated the implementation of Stage-2 rolling blackouts from Sunday afternoon.

Eskom spokesperson Sikhonathi Mantshantsha.

“Eskom would like to apologise, for the implementation of Stage-2 load shedding, starting from 4pm Sunday afternoon. Load shedding will regretfully continue until Wednesday morning the 20th of April, depending on the level of breakdowns. Load shedding is implemented only as a last resort, to protect the national grid. The power system continues to be fragile, and Eskom is forced to implement load shedding.”
