Dave Portnoy Criticizes Angel Reese for Struggling Performance During Chicago Sky’s Home Game in Chicago

When a sports personality like Dave Portnoy speaks up, people listen — and this time, he didn’t hold back.

The outspoken Barstool Sports founder took to social media to roast WNBA star Angel Reese after a rough game that had fans and critics buzzing.

Angel Reese Struggles in First Home Game of the Season

Angel Reese, playing for the Chicago Sky, faced a tough night in her first home game of the season.

This was also the team’s first game since the highly publicized on-court clash between Reese and rival Caitlin Clark last weekend.

Unfortunately for Reese, her performance didn’t quite live up to the hype.

Portnoy shared screenshots from the Chicago Sky versus New York Liberty game highlighting Reese’s stat line — and let’s just say it wasn’t flattering.

Reese went 0-for-8 shooting from the field, managed just 2-for-6 from the free-throw line, had five turnovers, and ended with a minus-25 plus-minus rating. She only scored two points in total.

Rebounding Is the Only Bright Spot for Reese

Despite the tough outing, Reese did grab a solid 12 rebounds, showing her hustle and determination on the boards.

But it wasn’t enough to save her from Portnoy’s brutal commentary, which included sarcastic posts and even a clip of Reese missing multiple shots, captioned “The beautiful game.”

Portnoy even joked about creating a “WNBA safe space” where no one would dare mention Reese’s 0-for-8 shooting night.

Needless to say, it stirred the pot among fans and followers.

Caitlin Clark Also Has an Off Night in Rematch Against Atlanta Dream

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark, Reese’s rival and fellow WNBA star, also had a challenging game.

Playing for Indiana Fever, Clark shot 4-for-11 from the field and missed all five of her three-point attempts, finishing with 11 points.

However, her team pulled off a comeback to beat the Atlanta Dream 81-76, improving their season record to 2-1.

This matchup came shortly after the intense confrontation between Clark and Reese, which sparked a WNBA investigation into allegations of racism from Fever fans.

Angel Reese Speaks Out on League Support and Racism Probe

Following the incident and the ongoing investigation, Reese opened up about the situation.

She emphasized that there’s no place for racism in the league, saying, “There’s no place in this league for that.”

Reese praised the WNBA and her team for the support she’s received, noting the widespread communication and solidarity across the league.

“It could happen to me, it can happen to anyone,” she told reporters after practice, highlighting the importance of standing united against such behavior.
