Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze will be allowed to stay with Spanish club side Villareal till January 3.
That means he will nor be joining the AFCON Super Eagles camp in Abuja that currently opened Monday.
This development followed a ruling by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) that players heading to Cameroon will be allowed to play fixtures between December 27 and January 3.
Consequently, coach Unai Emery will have Chukwueze for their January 3 clash with Levante.
Other African players – Aïssa Mandi, Serge Aurier and Boulaye Dia – will also play against Levante before departing for the AFCON tournament.
The AFCON tournament will be held in Cameroon between January 9 and February 6.
