The Labour Party today suspended a former shadow minister after allegations that she had intimidated her employees.

According to MailOnline, Christina Rees, the MP for Neath, had her whip taken after the party launched an inquiry into concerns about her behavior.

The 68-year-old, a former Judo black belt and professional squash player, served as Jeremy Corbyn’s shadow Welsh secretary from 2017 until 2020.

She joins 13 other independents, including Mr. Corbyn, in the House of Commons, making the total number of formally unaligned MPs equal to that of Liberal Democrats.

Ron Davies, an ex-Labour minister, and the mother of one were married for 26 years, ending in 1999. He made news a year earlier when he was robbed by a guy he met at a homosexual cruising area on London’s Clapham Common.

Rees sent a statement to the Guardian stating: “There has been a complaint filed against me to the Labour party, which is being investigated. As a result, I am under an administrative suspension until the process is complete.”

Although I am completely working with the inquiry, I am not aware of the specifics of the allegation.

In Neath, Ms. Rees was elected in 2015 to succeed Peter Hain, a minister of the Blair administration. She resigned from her position as a shadow minister in opposition to Jeremy Corbyn and backed his 2016 challenger Owen Smith.

But the next year, she joined the Corbyn camp once again.
