Cher was visibly annoyed with Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! while promoting the second part of her memoir, Cher: The Memoir.
The 78-year-old pop legend, known for her quick wit and strong presence, grew increasingly frustrated as Kimmel fired off rapid-fire questions.
At one point, Cher simply couldn’t hold back, calling his questions “so dumb.”
The Book Release Drama
The moment of tension arose when Kimmel asked if Cher had finished writing the second part of her book, which is set to be released in November 2025.
Cher initially laughed off the question but then admitted she hadn’t even started writing it yet.
Kimmel pressed on, prompting Cher to give him a cold look.
The late-night host, in his typical playful manner, questioned how she could meet her November deadline if she hadn’t begun the writing process yet.
Cher firmly insisted it would be ready, but Kimmel teased, “We’ll see.”
The “Turn Back Time” Reference That Backfired
The interview took another awkward turn when Kimmel tried to reference Cher’s iconic song, If I Could Turn Back Time, asking which year she would want to relive.
Before he could finish, Cher cut him off, saying, “This is so dumb.”
Despite her frustration, Cher went on to explain that, although she didn’t remember the year perfectly because of her dyslexia, she would choose to go back to being 60. However, she admitted the year she turned 40 was her best.
Kimmel’s Closing Remarks and Cher’s Response
As the interview came to a close, Kimmel sincerely thanked Cher for appearing on his show and joked that he hoped she would return in November, provided she managed to finish her book in time.
Cher responded with a humorous remark, telling him, “You’re a lot nicer and funnier than I thought you would be.”
Their playful back-and-forth ended on a light note, leaving the audience laughing at their quirky exchange.
