The leadership of Ambrose Alli University (AAU) in Ekpoma, Edo State, has strongly urged the identification, apprehension, and legal action against entities operating unauthorized satellite campuses under the university’s name.

AAU’s Response to Unauthorized Satellite Campuses

Responding to a recent report associated with the National Universities Commission (NUC), Mike Aladenika, the university’s Head of Corporate Communications and Protocol, emphasized the institution’s concern regarding alleged unofficial satellite campuses operating using AAU’s identity.

Call for Apprehension and Legal Action

Aladenika urged the NUC to pursue necessary measures to identify and prosecute individuals involved in these unlawful operations.

The university welcomed the NUC’s decision to investigate proprietors and recover illegal fees charged by these unauthorized campuses.

University’s Official Stance

The statement clarified that AAU neither operated nor authorized any satellite campuses, directly or indirectly. The university emphasized that certificates issued by such unauthorized campuses were invalid as the Senate had not approved any satellite campus or certifications from such entities.

The university asserted its reputation as a respected institution with a history spanning over 40 years, producing renowned alumni and boasting a student population exceeding 36,000.
