Celebrate Seattle Fire’s 2020 Annual Awards winners

Congratulations to all of the members of the Seattle Fire Department who have been recognized for their exceptional accomplishments in the year 2020.

The department recently presented a video appreciation event to honor individuals and teams that received an annual award last year. We invite the public to view the ceremony on YouTube and learn about our personnel’s outstanding efforts.

2020 winners

More than 250 employees earned special recognition for their courageous fire and EMS responses, leadership and service above self to the community we serve. We also recognized 10 individuals as employees of the year in various categories:

Chief of the Year: Deputy Chief Melissa Kennedy

Officer of the Year: Lieutenant Michael Brian Wallace

Firefighter of the Year: Firefighter Roger Webber

Civilian of the Year: Sarah Smith

Lifetime Achievement: Lieutenant Jon Kimball, Lieutenant Kym LeRoy and Lieutenant Francis Brennan

Customer Service: Evan Ward

Community Service: Firefighter Tien Tran and Galen Thomaier, Last Resort Fire Department
