Cavin Johnson: Pick ME for the Kaizer Chiefs coaching job!

The 63-year-old former Platinum Stars and AmaZulu head coach was most recently an assistant to Pitso Mosimane at Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

Johnson has since returned to Mzansi and is considering his next role and revealed that joining Amakhosi, who recently parted ways with Stuart Baxter, would be an “honour”.

He said on Monday Night Football: “…last week I said I won’t talk about it, because the man has still got his job and it’s coaching ethics.

“But now that it’s out in the public, yeah, the people have been talking, I’m honoured. I’m really, really honoured and I think Kaizer Chiefs, yes we can go there, and we can build a team.

“I believe you can build a team, but you have to have the people around you that’s prepared to build a team quickly.”

It remains to be seen who Kaizer Chiefs elect to entrust with the coaching role going forward.

Kaizer Chiefs fans want Benni

Benni McCarthy has been heavily linked to the job and in a recent poll run by The South African website, it was clear that Amakhosi fans want the former Bafana Bafana striker handed the reins.
