‘Can’t believe they’re gone’: Craig Lucas prepares to bury brother & his wife

Taking to his social media channels, Craig Lucas revealed he is still in disbelief at the sequence of events over the past few weeks.

On Sunday, 6 March, Craig’s brother Warren Lucas and his wife Arlene were fatally shot in their Brackenfell home. It was later reported that their teen son – who suffers with mental illness – was allegedly behind the double murder.

Taking to Facebook, Craig Lucas shared a picture of his brother and his wife. He captioned it: “I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest”.

“I’ll love you forever my heart is broken”, he added on Instagram

On Twitter, Craig Lucas posted several sombre posts which read;

“I can’t believe they’re both gone”

“My heart is in pieces”

“How can this happen”

At one point he even took a moment from mourning to share a joke. He tweeted: “The cute guy I was flirting with at the memorial service turned out to be my cousin. I hate it here”.

FAMILY REVEAL FUNERAL DETAILS

Meanwhile, Craig Lucas’s mom Jennifer has shared the funeral details for Warren and Arlen Lucas, which will take place on Saturday, 19 March in Kuilsrivier.

The funeral will strictly be open for only friends and family. The family have also banned media and live streaming from the funeral.

Earlier this week, a memorial service took place for the couple, which included a bike ride and hundreds of balloons being released into the sky.
