Buhari Has Made More Efforts To Stop Insecurity- Tanko Al- Mukara

Because Boko Haram did not bomb Lagos, Abuja, or Kano, ex- Governor Tanko Al- Makura of Nasarawa believes President Muhammadu Buhari has handled Nigeria’ s security problem adequately since taking office in 2015.
” Bombs were going off in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, and all over Nigeria.
” Take a look at how far we’ ve come since then. Are we going to have those bombings? ” Is it by chance or by design? ” the former governor wondered.
” This government has done a commendable job of following through on our pledges. ”
Mr Al- Makura, who is running for chairman of the All Progressives Congress, said this on Channels TV on Sunday when asked if his party has kept promises to Nigerians about confronting the country’ s insecurity.
” Isolating problems isn’ t a good idea. ” Take a look at what Boko Haram did to Nigeria before we arrived. Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa were all under Boko Haram’ s authority, he added.
” In fact, it got to the point where Boko Haram was in charge of certain local governments for months. ”
Prior to 2015, Mr Buhari blamed increased insecurity on the Peoples Democratic Party’ s 16 years of misrule, promising to address the issue if re- elected.
Insecurity has worsened since Mr Buhari’ s dictatorship assumed office in 2015, as Boko Haram militants, bandits, and unidentified gunmen continue to wreak havoc, killing and kidnapping innocent Nigerians for ransom.
Mr Buhari’ s media assistant Femi Adesina confessed in October 2021 that ” life has degenerated into the Hobbesian state of nature; ugly, brutish, and short” in the last 18 months under his principal’ s reign, lamenting the surge of insecurity in the country.
Mr Adesina stated, ” We have undoubtedly passed through the most tough of times in the last 18 months: security- wise, economically, socio- politically, and in many other aspects. “
