Brittany Mahomes becomes emotional as heartfelt tribute honors Patrick Mahomes and their growing family after Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl loss in New Orleans

It’s been an emotional rollercoaster for Brittany Mahomes in the days following the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

While the 40-22 defeat was tough to swallow, the Mahomes family has been navigating challenges beyond the football field.

Just last month, Brittany and Patrick welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Golden Raye.

But as they celebrated the joy of their growing family, they were also dealing with heartbreaking news—Patrick’s grandfather was placed in hospice care.

His mother, Randy Mahomes, shared before the big game that her father was holding on, hoping to see his grandson take the field in New Orleans.

A Touching Tribute from a Family Friend

Two days after the Super Bowl, a close friend of the family, infant sleep coach Jenna Artis, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message about the Mahomes couple—not just as public figures, but as parents.

“Not only is Patrick an incredible football player who changes the game with his talent and integrity, but he’s also redefining what it means to be a father—even with his demanding schedule,” Artis wrote.

She went on to praise both Patrick and Brittany for their devotion to their children.

“I never knew how much dads wanted to be part of bath time, wake-ups from naps, or that they cared about every little detail—fits, naps, eating habits—just because they genuinely wanted to,” she added.

Calling Patrick the “#1 dad” in the eyes of his three little ones, Artis also acknowledged Brittany’s strength. “You are the glue.

The way you juggle it all with grace, little sleep, and love is truly inspiring.

You’re an amazing mom, a wonderful person, and a friend anyone would be lucky to have.”

Brittany was clearly moved by the tribute, sharing it on her Instagram story with just one word: “Crying.”

Patrick Mahomes Takes Responsibility for Super Bowl Loss

While the family received an outpouring of love, Patrick himself reflected on the Chiefs’ performance.

In his post-game interview, he didn’t shy away from taking accountability for the team’s struggles.

“They played better than us from start to finish,” he admitted.

“We didn’t start the way we wanted, and the turnovers hurt. I take full responsibility for that.”

He pointed to two key mistakes that changed the momentum of the game.

“That’s 14 points I gave them. It’s hard to come back from that in the Super Bowl.

I didn’t play to my standard, and I have to be better next time.”

A Message to Fans: “We Will Be Back”

Despite the tough loss, Mahomes made sure to show appreciation for his supporters.

He posted on X (formerly Twitter), thanking Chiefs fans for standing by him.

“I let y’all down today,” he wrote. “I’ll always continue to work, learn, and be better for it.

Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity he has given me. We will be back.”

The Super Bowl loss may have been disappointing, but for the Mahomes family, football is just one part of their story.

Through all the wins and losses, they continue to be celebrated not just for their accomplishments, but for the love and dedication they show to each other.
