Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the meeting with Russia needs to take place as soon as possible. He said he believes more than 1 meeting is needed to reach a compromise.
This is due to the level of damages that Russia is currently cause the country of Ukraine.
“I believe that the meeting with Russia should take place as soon as possible. I don’t think that one meeting will be enough,” Zelensky said in an interview with Ukrainian media.
Among other things, he will have to discuss the status of the Donbass republic. He said he wants people who see themself as Ukrainians but living in the Donbass to know the status of where they live!
“They want to constantly change the status in this part, and we want some sort of agreements so that those people who live there, who think of themselves as Ukrainians, so that they know where they live, that they do not live on an island in the middle of land, but within a state,” the president explained.
The Ukrainian president seems to be conceeding to demands of the big bully, Russia. But no one can blame him!
