Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy continues to impress as five English clubs and two Spanish giants chase his signature in Europe

When it comes to goal-scoring prowess in Europe right now, few players can match Serhou Guirassy’s lethal instinct inside the box.

The 29-year-old striker has been turning heads this season with his impressive tally of goals for Borussia Dortmund, and it looks like a host of big clubs are lining up to try and snap him up this summer.

Guirassy’s Goal-Scoring Run and Transfer Buzz

After a slow start to the season, Guirassy has found his rhythm and fired in 33 goals across 43 games for Dortmund.

That puts him just behind Harry Kane for the most goals scored in the Bundesliga this term, which is no small feat.

With those numbers, it’s no surprise that five of the Premier League’s biggest teams have reportedly set their sights on the Guinea international.

The striker has already been linked to a move to Manchester United in the past, and this summer, clubs like United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal are all said to have the chance to trigger a €70 million (£60 million) release clause in his contract.

Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also in the mix, making this one of the most hotly contested striker battles in recent memory.

From Stuttgart to Dortmund and Now the Transfer Spotlight

Guirassy’s rise has been swift. Just last summer, Dortmund secured his services for around £15 million after he bagged 30 goals in 30 games for Stuttgart.

His contract with Dortmund runs until 2028, and club managing director Lars Ricken has expressed confidence that Guirassy will stay put — especially after the player showed a strong desire to join the club last year.

Still, the lure of the Premier League — and the financial muscle of its top clubs — could tempt the forward to consider a move.

Dortmund know this well and will have their work cut out to keep him, especially since the striker market this summer is thin on standout options.

Why Guirassy Might Be the Answer for Striker-Hungry Clubs

Several other forwards like Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak, Victor Osimhen, and Benjamin Sesko have been linked with moves, but questions around their suitability and price tags have made some clubs hesitant.

This could make Guirassy the safer and more appealing choice for teams desperate to boost their attacking options before the transfer window slams shut.

Back in December 2023, Guirassy reportedly turned down Manchester United to chase a move to Tottenham instead.

At the time, United boss Erik ten Hag was looking to support Rasmus Hojlund, who was struggling to find the net in the Premier League.

But now, with the Red Devils still needing goals and the arrival of Joshua Zirkzee not providing the hoped-for firepower, their hunger for a top striker has only increased.

Where Does Guirassy Stand Now in the Transfer Race?

According to reports from Sky Germany in March, Guirassy didn’t make Manchester United’s shortlist of four strikers — which included Gyokeres, Osimhen, Sesko, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.

But with the summer transfer window still open, and plenty of clubs circling, it’s anyone’s guess where this prolific forward will end up.
