Body of a man allegedly bludgeoned to death was found on Alex Bean Road in Canelands, KZN

On Friday morning, a body of a man who was allegedly bludgeoned to death was discovered on Alex Bean Road in Canelands, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

According to reports, a passerby discovered the man’s body.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), a private security firm, a passerby called them at 06:38 after making the discovery.

According to RUSA spokesperson Prem Balram, reaction officers were dispatched to the location and found a man who had not been identified lying in a prone position when they arrived. He was merely dressed in his underwear.

According to Balram, an examination showed that the individual had suffered serious head trauma before passing away.

RUSA spokesperson, Prem Balram, said:

“A bloodied rock was located next to his body which was in a state of rigour mortis. The deceased is believed to have been bludgeoned to death. The motive for the murder was not immediately established.”

In a separate incident, the body of an unidentified man who had been stabbed at least forty times and beaten to death was discovered in overgrown vegetation on an unpaved road next to a river in Oakford, KZN.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), when Reaction Officers arrived they saw a blood trail leading from the unpaved road to the body.

Medical personnel who examined the dead allegedly discovered multiple stab wounds to his neck, chest, and back in addition to blunt force trauma to his face.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said:

“A pair of sandals were discovered on the road where the murder is believed to have occurred. He was then dragged into the bush. A broken beer bottle  was also recovered along the blood trail.

“It could not be immediately confirmed if it was used in the killing. The motive for the murder has not been confirmed.”
