Bishop’s Visionary Encounter Foretold Boko Haram’s Defeat Through Rosary Prayers in Maiduguri

Bishop Oliver Dashe Doeme of Nigeria’s Maiduguri Diocese, once a focal point of Boko Haram assaults, recounts his visionary encounter with Jesus Christ.

According to Doeme, he received a message during this encounter predicting Boko Haram’s defeat through rosary prayers.

Speaking after the book’s recent launch in Glasgow, Dyikuk, whose research focuses on countering Boko Haram, aims to offer new insights into rosary meditation.

“My goal is to inspire readers to view the rosary as more than just a routine,” he explained.

“Can we find joy in reflecting on its mysteries and share that joy with others? How does tragedy affect our faith, and can we unite our suffering with Jesus through meditation?”

Reflecting on his own journey, Dyikuk, a survivor of a 2011 Boko Haram attack, discussed how daily recitation of the rosary deepened his spiritual life.

“I used to pray daily, but now I approach it with greater mindfulness,” he shared.

“Devoting an hour each day has borne many spiritual fruits in my life.”

Exploring the Mysteries

Dyikuk’s book delves into the historical and theological aspects of the rosary, echoing the teachings of various Popes on its significance.

It emphasizes observances like May and October dedicated to rosary devotion and revisits the Fatima apparitions, advocating for global peace through Mary’s intercession.

Connecting Daily Life to Spiritual Practice

Chapters 3–6 examine how each decade of the rosary can resonate with personal experiences and those of the community, emphasizing their relevance to daily life.

Testimonials of Faith

Chapter 7 shares Dyikuk’s personal accounts of the rosary’s power, while Chapter 8 compiles testimonials from others who have had profound spiritual encounters through rosary prayers.

Promoting Marian Devotion

In Chapter 9, Dyikuk proposes practical steps to enhance Marian devotion, including promoting online rosaries to counter negative influences on social media.

Poetry of the Mass

Chapter 2 explores the rosary’s relationship with the Mass, framing it as the “poetry” complementing the “drama” of the Mass itself.

“The Mass is like a drama where Jesus, as the priest and lamb of sacrifice, offers himself,” Dyikuk explains.

“In contrast, the rosary is the poetry that allows us to reflect deeply on Christ’s mysteries, integrating them into our daily lives for spiritual enrichment.”

This book aims to enrich Marian theology and inspire a deeper spiritual connection through the practice of the rosary.
