Bayer Foundation, located in Leverkusen, Germany, has teamed up with Impact Hub Network to launch applications for the 2025 Women Entrepreneurs Award
. This initiative is aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs who are tackling global challenges in health, food security, and nutrition.
What the Award Offers
The award provides 15 winners with €25,000 in funding, along with support to help them scale their solutions and overcome barriers to growth.
It also offers connections to influential networks that are focused on creating transformative change.
The goal is to amplify the efforts of these women, boost scalable social businesses, and enable them to reach a wider impact.
Highlighting Past Winners
The 2024 winners exemplified the impactful work that the award supports.
Some of the notable winners included:
- Joan Nalubega from Uganda, who developed mosquito repellents integrated into everyday products like soap and lotion. This innovation helped reduce malaria cases by 88% in households using her products.
- Valentina Rios from Colombia, who revolutionized pediatric care with a 24/7 WhatsApp-based service. This service has resolved over 9 million inquiries across 28 countries and reduced emergency room visits by 92%, vastly improving healthcare access for underserved families.
- Athalia Mutiara Laksmi from Indonesia, who created a 3D animation translator to bridge the gap between hearing and deaf communities, enabling over 160,000 people to learn and communicate.
