Fans of Strictly Come Dancing might be seeing EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal bow out soon.
The 46-year-old actress, dancing alongside Julian Caillon, has found herself in a tricky spot.
After scoring the lowest marks for the last two weeks, she currently holds the shortest odds for elimination at 2/7.
On top of that, Balvinder has landed in the dreaded bottom two four times this season—more than any other contestant.
Following her is actress Alex Kingston, who faces 6/1 odds of leaving the competition next.
Front-Runners for the Glitterball Trophy
Meanwhile, some contestants are enjoying a steadier journey on the dance floor.
YouTuber George Clarke is leading the pack with the highest odds to win at 11/10.
Former England footballer Karen Carney is hot on his heels with 15/8 odds, while Lewis Cope has impressed judges consistently and remains a strong contender in third place.
A spokesperson from MyBettingSites.co.uk explained:
That’s exactly what George Clarke and Karen Carney have done, raising their game week after week.
George’s online fanbase gives him a slight edge, but Karen and Lewis are not far behind.”
Karen Carney Opens Up About Dark Times
While the competition heats up, Karen Carney has shared a deeply personal story about her struggles off the pitch.
The 38-year-old revealed she once contemplated suicide due to sexist online abuse during her career as a professional footballer and later as a pundit.
Karen’s challenges began in 2009 when she moved to the US to play for the Chicago Red Stars.
A knee operation sidelined her, and she fell into depression, developing self-harming habits and a reliance on sleeping pills.
“I was in a pretty bad way. That has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to overcome,” she said.
Encouraged by former Arsenal coach Emma Hayes, Karen returned to the UK before her contract ended.
“I came back purely to save my life, pretty much,” she said, crediting friends for helping her regain stability.
After a career resurgence with Birmingham City and Chelsea, she retired from professional football in 2019.
