Bafana Bafana and Cape Town City attacker Fagrie Lakay is set to join Percy Tau and Pitso Mosimane in Egypt!
Cape Town City are reportedly set to lose star attacker Fagrie Lakay after he secured a move to Egyptian powerhouse Pyramids FC.
Bafana striker secures move to Egypt
According to reports, Lakay’s move could be completed in the next 48 hours with the powerful striker departing to Egypt to complete his medical on Sunday.
Lakay will be competing in the same league as South African giant Pitso Mosimane and Bafana teammate Percy Tau who both represent Al Ahly.
“Fagrie Lakay is set for a big opportunity after Cape Town City and Egyptian Premier League outfit Pyramids FC reportedly agreed on a transfer for the South African international.” IdiskiTimes reported of the Bafana striker.
“The 24-year-old Lakay is now expected, medicals permitting, to make a move to the wealthy Egyptian club before the January transfer window shuts down, and will fly to Egypt on Sunday to complete the lucrative move.
“A source in Egypt confirmed that Pyramids have had an offer accepted and have moved swiftly to complete the deal for the Bafana striker. Lakay is expected to be announced in the next 48 hours.”
Lakay will be the second Bafana striker to earn a move abroad after Maritzburg United’s Bongokuhle Hlongwane sealed a move to the MLS. The 21-year-old signed a three-year-contract with Minnesota during the current transfer window.
Lakay’s Pyramids FC currently sit in third position on the Egyptian Premier League log standings, just two points behind Pitso Mosimane and Percy Tau’s Al Ahly who are the log leaders.
