Broos shocked SA when he made this incredibly extreme promise to all Bafana Bafana supporters ahead of their 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

What a shocking statement. This is exactly what our national coach had to a say:
“If we are not qualified for that, you can kill me,” he stated on EWN.
This statement was made almost a year ago but it is relevant now because the groups for the AFCON were recently announced.
South Africans were gutted to not qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after showing so much promise. It was a case of so close yet so far for Broos and our boys…

Since then, Broos and SA have had to contend with some pretty dismal displays to say the least.
A dull 0-0 draw against Guinea showed our lack of attacking creativity and spark. Far worse though was the 5-0 drubbing we took against World Champions, France. It was all going so well for Broos until the drama against Ghana and the recent lacklustre displays.
For his sake and the national side’s, nothing less than qualifying for the 2023 African Cup of Nations will suffice.
That is why he went as far as “putting his life on the line”. This is how much it means to him and possibly how confident he is of this feat. Morocco will pose us with the biggest challenge however, the goal is clear – to qualify at all costs!
