Bafana Bafana: France’s Kylian Mbappe faces a concern before SA game

It’s nearly time for the most exciting Tuesday of 2022 if you‘re a Bafana Bafana fan. As we’ve confirmed in the past week or so, South Africa’s national side will lock horns with world champions France in an international friendly.

The game will be played at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Tuesday at 21:15. It will be the first meeting since South Africa earned a 2-1 win over Les Bleus during the 2010 World Cup.

As we understand how friendly internationals go, and as not so powerful nation, so we should not expect France’s manager Didier Deschamps to bring out his best men.

One of the superstars that may miss the game is Kylian Mbappe.

DESCHAMPS SAYS MBAPPE CAUGHT AN INFECTION

Speaking to the media before a training session on Saturday, and after beating Ivory Coast 2-1 in a friendly on Friday night, Deschamps revealed that Mbappe missed training.

“Kylian (Mbappe) is not going to do the session because of an ENT infection. I will take stock with him and the medical staff tomorrow,” the former France skipper said as quoted by Sports Illustrated.

Meanwhile, the SABC, who broadcasted South Africa’s friendly against Guinea last Friday via YouTube, are yet to say any word on the France game.
