…By Babatunde Lucas for TDPel Media. Asda has announced that its popular Kids Eat for £1 café meal deals will continue during the school May half term holidays.
The retailer recently refreshed its kids café menu to include more nutritionally balanced options, including new vegan and healthy meal choices.
During the two-week Easter holiday period, Asda served over 115,000 meals to children, following the successful launch of the offer in June 2022.
Since its inception, Asda has provided 1.6 million meals to kids under 16 through its 205 cafes nationwide.
The kids menu features a variety of offers, including two new hot meal options: Penne Pasta with Meatballs and a vegan Hidden Veg pasta meal.
The existing hot meals, such as fish fingers, now offer the choice of swapping out chips for a salad or peas.
As an added bonus, children who purchase the hot kids £1 meal deal will receive a free piece of fruit, such as an apple, pear, or banana.
For those who prefer a cold meal, Asda Café also offers a £1 cold pick and mix selection, which includes a sandwich, drink, and piece of fruit.
The menu now includes new treats like a jelly pot with whole fruit pieces or a jelly squeeze pouch as an alternative to a pack of crisps.
Kris Comerford, Asda’s Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of supporting families during half term breaks, which can often strain household budgets.
With a significant increase in the number of meals served during school holidays since the launch of the kids £1 café meal deals, Asda is proud to extend the offer to cover the May half term holidays.
Having already served over 1.6 million meals, the company hopes to continue providing vital support to families in the weeks to come.
