The charges against him relate to the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The arraignment comes after the Department of State Services (DSS) filed a two-count charge on July 13, 2023.
Date Fixed for Arraignment by Justice Nicholas Oweibo
Justice Nicholas Oweibo, the presiding judge, fixed the date for the arraignment and informed the lawyers representing all parties involved.

The news outlet also confirmed that hearing notices pertaining to the case had been duly issued and dispatched by the court to the respective counsel.

Victor Opara (SAN), one of the lawyers representing the embattled CBN Governor, confirmed the developments surrounding the case.
He disclosed that the former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Joseph Daudu (SAN), is expected to lead Emefiele’s defense team during the proceedings.
Charges and Accusations
The charges filed by the Department of State Services accuse Godwin Emefiele of possessing a single-barrelled shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a valid license.
This constitutes the first count.
In the second count, he is accused of illegally possessing 23 rounds of live ammunition (cartridges) without the necessary license.
These offenses are alleged to be in violation of Section 8 of the Firearms Act and are punishable under Section 27 (1)(b)(il) of the same Act.
As the case proceeds to court, both the prosecution and the defense will present their arguments and evidence before the judge.
