The National Chairmanship aspirant of the Nigerian governing party, the All Progressive Congress, APC, has pledged a gender-inclusive leadership if he emerges as the party Chairman in the March 26 Convention.

Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura, from the Central State of Nasarawa, in an interaction with the APC Caucus of the House of Representatives, attributed most of the internal crisis in political parties to a lack of justice and fairness.

He said if elected as the APC National Chairman, he, along with his team, will ensure that women get more opportunities to contribute to nation-building.

The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase, described Al-Makura as a sincere, transparent, and reliable person who is always ready to face challenges when given the responsibility.

Earlier, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, AlHassan Ado-Doguwa, pledged the lawmakers’ support and cooperation for Al-Makura if the opportunity presented itself.

Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura, a two-time governor of Nasarawa State, is contesting the National Chairmanship position of the APC along with Senator Adamu Abdullahi, also a two-time governor of the same State.
