Benson Mhlongo was sacked barely a year into his second stint with GladAfrica Championship side TS Sporting after a series of poor results.
A few weeks ago, Mhlongo publicly complained about the management’s interference in his job as coach, saying they wanted the team to play a certain brand of football.
And the former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns skipper was against the idea, and it was rather obvious that he was not going to last at TS Sporting.
With a single win from the last five games, the TS Sporting management was not convinced that Mhlongo was the right man to take the team forward.
The fact that TS Sporting are lingering at the bottom of the GladAfrica Championship standings in 15th place is evident that the team wasn’t doing well.
