An ambulance struck a Sydney resident in Surry Hills

After a terrifying ambulance crash, a 32-year-old man was hospitalized overnight with brain injuries.

Just after midnight, emergency services were summoned to Elizabeth Street in Surry Hills, Sydney, after reports of an ambulance colliding with a pedestrian.

The ambulance is thought to have been responding to an emergency call.

The man was treated at the spot by paramedics for significant head injuries before being sent to the Royal Alfred Hospital.

He is still in critical condition.

Police have set up a crime scene at the crash site and are examining the incident’s circumstances.
