Fans of Kaizer Chiefs who like Lehlogonolo Matlou will have to wait two more matches to see the lanky midfielder in action. Sunday’s MTN8 match between Matlou and AmaZulu resulted in a fairly ugly straight red card.

As reported by The South African on Sunday, Arthur Zwane’s Amakhosi were dissatisfied with their 1-1 draw against Usuthu at Soccer City.

Gabadinho Mhango gave the visitors the lead in the first half, but Keagan Dolly scored the equaliser just after the hour mark.

Usuthu will have an away goal advantage when the two teams meet again later this month for the second match.

Immediately after the referee blew the final whistle, the official was witnessed issuing Matlou, an unused replacement, a straight red card.

Monday morning elapsed before the Chiefs posted an update on the situation. The club’s social media said that the red card was confirmed after receiving the match report from the match commissioner.

This particular supporter will be deeply disappointed by these news. Image: @SuperSportTV/ Twitter
