Alice Evans Speaks Out in Bitter Custody Battle with Ioan Gruffudd

In the midst of a contentious legal dispute with the actor regarding their daughters, Alice Evans, the ex-wife of Ioan Gruffudd, vows to “tell her truth” today.

After a 14-year marriage, Gruffudd filed for divorce from Evans in 2021, sparking a bitter custody dispute between the warring Hollywood stars over their young children, Ella and Elsie.

The Fantastic Four star requested that a child psychiatrist be appointed to mediate the increasingly intense arguments between the two girls, who are nine and thirteen years old, and a Los Angeles judge granted his request in August.

Evans, star of 102 Dalmatians, had strongly objected to the decision, saying that Gruffudd had not seen or called his daughters in nearly three months and that it was unnecessary.

Evans now promised to ‘tell her truth’ in an Instagram post from today that features Elsie having fun in a swimming pool.

Posting this happy moment (which I share with my kids every single day) because I’m going to be honest about the harassment I’ve been subjected to for the past two years, she wrote.

I can’t just sit here and let people constantly disparage and lie about me.

It transpires some months subsequent to the judge’s decision, which followed Gruffudd’s filing of a fresh, 34-page written document  in which he attacked Evans, charging that she had called daughter Ella a ‘f***ing b****’ and informed the teenager that she ‘would be receiving a new father shortly.

‘All of the ‘abuse’ claims made by her ex have been refuted by Evans.

Gruffudd referred to Evans’ most recent remarks attacking her ex and opposing the evaluation as “false or grossly misleading” in a declaration to the court.

“Our daughters Ella and Elsie’s circumstances and my relationship with them are not what Alice describes,” he stated.

In multiple posts on social media, Alice has stated clearly that she does not want this to happen and is actively working to stop it.

She has said, “I believe it is imperative that a specific evaluator be appointed at the hearing on August 17 in order to avoid further and potentially significant delays in getting this important process started.”

Alice has also stated her own opinions.

Gruffudd noted that while Alice maintains that “no child custody evaluation is necessary,” both the girls’ most recent therapist and the court-appointed lawyer for them are in favour of hiring an evaluator.

“I feel that it would be in the best interest of your daughters for Elsie to continue psychotherapy with me and Ella to be evaluated by a child psychiatrist,” the therapist wrote, he continued.

Gruffudd voiced concern that Evans, in violation of a court order stating she couldn’t switch the kids’ schools without his consent, had removed Elsie out of the school she had attended since kindergarten and placed her in a new one.

“I disagreed,” he declared.

Once more discussing the “serious emotional harm” he feels Evans is causing their girls, Gruffudd continued, saying, “During our marriage and after separation, Alice regularly berated, verbally abused and threatened me, often in the presence of Ella and/or Elsie.”

Alice made several threats against me, including calling the police, telling Ella she would soon have a new father, and claiming she had been unhappy for years and wanted a divorce.

“I think Alice’s actions were abusive to the girls as well as to me, and I think it was unhealthy and upsetting for the girls to watch this behaviour.”

Now dating 31-year-old Bianca Wallace, Gruffudd recalled an event from Ella’s 11th birthday in which “Elsie sent me a video of Ella arguing with Alice.”

Ella urged Alice to stop bringing me up in every conversation, saying that she was disappointed because Alice had broken her pledge not to drink.

Ella yelled at Alice, calling her a “f***ing b***h,” and Alice yelled back, “Just be a mother!”

“Since our split, Alice has made thousands of derogatory, abusive, and threatening posts about me,” he continued.

Evans has refuted every accusation of “abuse” made by her former partner and has not yet addressed Judge Freeman Stinn’s recent verdict against her.

Gruffudd filed for divorce in March 2021, not long after the blonde-haired actress alleged on social media that her spouse of 14 years was abandoning her and their two girls.

Gruffudd and Evans first met when costarring in the 2000 Disney film, 101 Dalmatians.

Their divorce became finalised only a month ago.

However, there are still matters to be settled, including child custody, spousal support, and child support.
