Rishi Sunak’s wife, Akshata Murty, has received a significant £6.8 million dividend from Infosys, her family’s tech company.
This brings her total dividend income for the year to an impressive £13.5 million, surpassing the combined earnings of all Labour MPs.
The Sunak’s Decreased Wealth
Despite their considerable wealth, the Sunak couple has seen a decline in their net worth.
Their estimated wealth, which stood at £730 million in 2022, has decreased to around £529 million. This nearly 30% decrease is attributed to a decrease in Infosys’ share value.
Infosys’ Strong Growth
The latest £6.8 million dividend payout is a result of Infosys’ robust performance, including an 18 rupee (17p) dividend to shareholders following a year of strong growth.

The majority of Akshata Murty’s wealth is derived from Infosys, her family’s tech company, valued at approximately $73 billion (£59 billion).
She owns just over 0.9 percent of Infosys, which was estimated at £690 million in 2022, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.

Over the years, Murty has amassed wealth from dividends, with estimates suggesting that her stake in Infosys should have delivered at least £54 million in dividends, including an £11 million payout in 2021 and a recent £6.8 million dividend.

She worked for Deloitte and Unilever, completed her MBA at Stanford University, and established her fashion label, Akshata Designs, although it didn’t succeed.

In 2013, she became the director of venture capital fund Catamaran Ventures and played a role in launching its London branch.
She is also a shareholder in several other companies, including Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria, Bloom & Wild, Wendy’s restaurants in India, and New & Lingwood, a men’s apparel store.
