Aguleri Community, Others Hold Grand Reception For Obiano

Ndi Aguleri and other communities in Omabala area have organised grand reception in honor of the former Governor of Anambra state , Chief Willie Obiano at Ama Igwe Square, Aguleri lends credence to this assertion

Ama Igwe square Aguleri witnessed a massive crowd who came to welcome back former Governor Obiano, after spending what they described as eight years of meritorious service to Ndi Anambra.

Former Governor Obiano was received by school children who filed out along the road from the Oyi bridge being the boundary between Nteje and Umueri communities till the central school Aguleri.

Chief Obiano made a brief stop at Obu Gad, Aguleri where he presented himself to Ndi Ojiana and Ndi Ichie Aguleri and told them that he has finished the journey of eight years, just as he visited and sought for their prayers when he assumed office in 2014.

Afterwards, the former Governor proceeded to Ama Igwe square where he was received by a mammoth crowd amidst tears of joy.

The traditional ruler of Aguleri, Igwe Michael Idigo, who prayed God to bless the former Governor, appreciated him for all he did for Anambra state.

Meanwhile Anambra State traditional rulers used the occasion to confer the chieftaincy title of “Ukwu Oma Kpolu Anambra on the former governor.

Igwe Isaac Okafor of Okpuno, the chairman Anambra North traditional rulers who is the traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka and his Oko counterpart, Igwe Laz Ekwueme, noted that Anambra is blessed to have someone like chief Obiano adding that he has written his name on the annals of history.

On behalf of all the government functionaries in Aguleri both past and present, the chairman Anambra State Sports Commission Chief Tony Oli expressed happiness that the event attracted all Omabala community and all the traditional rulers in the state including Igwe Kenneth Orizu of Nnewi.
